A Word from the Pastor

The symbol of the butterfly?

So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation:
Everything old has passed away;

See, everything has become new!

2 Corinthians 5:17

Amazing changes take place when a caterpillar turns into a cocoon and a beautiful butterfly. This Lent, we have held the symbol of the butterfly before us as reminder that the “Christian Life” is a journey of transformation.  The question is, “Where is God working out transformation in my life; what is God calling me to do?”

On Easter, we join millions of brothers and sisters all over the globe to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection is more than a miracle.

“The resurrection makes possible a radical style of new life. Closed worlds are broken open, and old perceptions of what is plausible and possible are shattered.”

The future is filled with hope and promise because God is still at work in/through/ with us.

Let’s be patient; God has not finished with us yet!

I wish you a hope- filled Easter.

 Pastor Dorothy

FIGHT CANCER – RELAY
FOR LIFE IN MARLBORO

Relay for Life is 18 hours of fun for a great cause – fighting cancer.

From May 21st through May 22nd, the Bastian Family will be part of teams walking at Ward Park in Marlborough.   Ann and Art are members of a team made up of co-workers and Dan is leading a team of teenagers from Marlborough High School.  Teams pledge to keep one member of their team on the track for the entire 18 hours of the relay.  The whole community will come together through this relay to step up the fight against cancer.  Our goal is to fight cancer by raising as much money as possible while having good, competitive teams at Ward Park.

We are writing this letter in The Link in hopes that our extended family, the Congregation at the First United Methodist Church, would like to make a donation to this cause.  There is no set amount per mile or per lap.  Any donation amount gets us all closer to eliminating this dreaded disease.

Donations may be sent via mail to:

 First United Methodist Church
C/O The Bastian Family (Fight for Cancer)
52 Church Street
Marlborough, MA 0175
2

Check should be made out to:
The American Cancer Society

Thank you all for your kindness and support as together, we fight to find a cure and eliminate cancer in our lifetime.

 Sincerely,

The Bastian Family
